do it yourself abortions – The net gets weirder everyday
In my voyages around the net today I was puzzled to find that the top search on Technorati right now is “do it yourself Abortions”. A quick look around the technorati sites that are linked to this search reveals nothing about the reason this is such a hot topic right now.
As you may have gathered by now, I`m not from the U.S. I like to think of myself as a guy that is up to date with current events, but this news about South Dakota passing an anti-abortion bill slipped under the radar for me.
Turns out this woman, a self described “Feminist , liberal talk, and former journalist turned phone sex operator” wrote a DIY abortion manual that`s making rounds in the blogosphere (I feel stupid using that word).
Turns out the manual is VERY detailed and she`s even posted her email so people can make suggestions. An abortion wiki if you will.
So that`s pretty much it if you are wondering. My take on the issue? I dont think any government has the right to dictate what people do with their bodies, but this is an specially difficult subject. But this bill is pretty retarded if you ask me.
The South Dakota bill includes a ban on all abortions other than those to save the life of the mother (no exceptions, even for rape or incest).
Call me crazy but isn`t that just gonna send a bunch of women to their best friend`s basement to do this themselves (with the help of the DIY abortion manual, even though Molly`s blog says she will never, ever, EVER recommend self-induced abortion. In any form. In any way. Self-induced techniques are universally dangerous and I do not advocate them.
Well that`s my take on this subject.See, we are not all about porn.

just in case you were wondering as to the number of hits……msnbc.com refrenced the site as a “look it up yourself” so as not to piss off the public type thing, which is most likly attributable to the resurgance of hits…..http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6409077/
There is a article on MSNBC regarding that blog, which is likely driving the traffic
